Original research / regional responsibility study

Ask who owns
each part of the work.

The regional review applies the Kansas City model to 60 distinct company records: 13 fields each, 780 recorded observations and 270 distinct source pages. The evidence distinguishes advertised responsibilities, exclusions, variable packages and unresolved questions. It does not rank workmanship.

One company, one record.

A company can appear in several local samples. The totals on this page count each company once. City totals overlap and must not be added to estimate the number of businesses. Some fields cover only a named part of a system; read the precise responsibility note before comparing statuses.

Method and interpretation.

Researchers start with a source-backed directory association and read service, process, project, specification, warranty and coverage pages where available. A record uses one of four statuses for each field. A general turnkey statement does not establish every installed trade; support with documents does not establish permit-application responsibility; a kit or shell handoff does not mean residential occupancy.

Positive evidence can be specific to one package or a broader company service. Each note preserves that context. A negative disclosure means an express exclusion, while missing evidence remains unresolved. Named projects are company accounts rather than inspection findings. Warranty headlines are read beside available operative terms. Conflicting pages remain questions for the proposal.

The source set is uneven, selected and company-controlled. This is not a market census, contract audit, independently verified capability record, current licensing check or price survey. Evidence can change; source access notes and dates are retained in the complete dataset. The earlier 12-company Kansas City study retains its original denominator and record.
