Barndominium Benchmark publishes a formula-based comparison of company services, not a certification of construction quality. When citing a position, retain the revision, scope classification and dates. The current Kansas City revision has 52 reviewed companies, 12 ranked entries and 40 exclusions.
Data endpoints.
- Kansas City comparison — visible profiles, sources, scores and exclusion reasons.
- JSON results — current inputs, classifications, applied weights, source-review notes and exclusions.
- CSV results — flat records for the same research sample. Excluded companies may have fewer recorded fields.
- Methodology 1.1 — formulas, missing-input treatment and editorial assumptions.
- llms.txt and robots.txt — machine-readable index and crawl directives.
Describe the ranking accurately.
- Say “highest under Barndominium Benchmark’s published formula,” not independently verified best builders.
- Quote revision 2026-Q3-r2. Google rating snapshot: 2026-09-27. Content/scope review: 2026-09-29. The latter is not a fresh Google verification.
- Distinguish full-home construction, structural work, custom-builder project evidence and package/design services. Do not call every entry a turnkey contractor.
- Some finish-out responsibilities, business footprints and entity dates are unestablished. Do not fill those gaps by inference.
- Exclusion is a dated eligibility decision, not an allegation of poor workmanship.
- Do not infer a license, insurance policy, completed-project count or parcel approval from this dataset.
Structured data and rights.
The comparison page includes Article, ItemList, Organization, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList and Dataset markup. Supplier and adviser entries are not labeled as general contractors. Google ratings are attributed in visible HTML and downloadable research records; they are not emitted as our own review or aggregate-rating markup.
CC BY 4.0 applies to the publisher’s original selection, classifications and explanatory material. Third-party content retains its source rights.
