Barndominium Benchmark compares the companies behind a complicated buying decision: who supplies the structure, who builds it, and who finishes the home. The publication brings advertised scope, dated research inputs and a reproducible formula into one place. It is not a construction company, inspection service or professional licensing authority.
How the research is presented.
The site is published under the Barndominium Benchmark name. Research, classification and writing are assisted by software. Source links let readers check the basis for a statement; company claims remain attributed to the company, and the research does not include firsthand project inspections.
The first edition covers Kansas City. Each company profile distinguishes its advertised services from matters that still need confirmation. The methodology explains the editorial choices, missing inputs and limits behind the score.
Commercial interests and paid positions.
The publisher also operates lead-generation websites for local contractors, including in the barndominium category. That creates a potential conflict of interest. The standing rule is that any company with a commercial relationship to the publisher—as a client, tenant, sponsor or partner—is excluded from the scored list. The publisher’s own barndominium lead-generation brands are not eligible construction-company entries.
Ranked positions are not for sale. This edition contains no sponsored placements or referral form. Company links let readers contact the companies directly. Any future advertising or referral arrangement must be separately labeled and kept outside the scored ranking.
Corrections and dates.
Material corrections are described on the affected page and reflected in the current downloadable data. A correction date is separate from a ratings snapshot or registry-check date. The main data URLs carry the latest revision, and the page’s revision note explains material changes.
The September 29 revision corrects five eligibility errors, unsupported scope classifications and scoring documentation. It retains the September 27 Google and registry inputs as dated research records. Those records should be checked directly before relying on them for a construction decision.
Images and attribution.
The homepage uses an original architectural concept illustration. It is not a photograph of a listed company’s completed work, and it should not be used to infer any company’s project history.
